About Zaruhi Galstyan

Zar Galstyan is an Annie award winning character designer currently working  in the animation industry. She has a deep love of developing, designing, and bringing characters to life. She received her BFA from the Character Animation program at the California Institute of the Arts (CalArts). She spent the majority of her career designing characters at Pixar Animation Studios, working on films such as Toy Story 3, Coco, Onward, Turning Red, and other projects still in development. She is a first generation immigrant from Armenia and her culture continues to be a well of inspiration for her personal work. When she’s not designing for animation she loves to cook, meditate, and create one of a kind wood-burnings.
